Helping the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
The railway is something that you can get involved in!
We have jobs of many sorts that need doing. These include:
- painting
- locomotive repair and restoration
- carriage and wagon maintenance
- track laying
- and many general everyday jobs
· Come and be a part of the railway ·
If you have a skill, so much the better, we can always use carpenters, electricians, painters, but for much of the work training can be given on the job. Very few of our band of volunteers have had work experience on the railways, but all were keen to learn.
We
welcome anyone with a few hours to spare occasionally. A suitable job can always
be found. Working parties are usually at Ludborough on Tuesdays and weekends.
Work usually starts about 10am and ends about 5pm, earlier in the winter. We are
grateful for any help. Come when you can.
Donations
You can help the railway financially by purchasing shares
in the company – this can be done one of two ways, by
monthly standing order or by purchasing shares outright. If
you are a shareholder, this entitles you to attend the AGM
and have a say in the future of the railway. Contact a Lincolnshire
Wolds Railway member for more information.
· Materials & Money ·
A railway requires a large amount of resources and services such as transportation to both keep running and to further develop – building materials, paint, etc. If you have any spare items or if you know of any business or individual who has anything that they have, which may be of use to us, and they are willing to either donate the goods and services, or to offer us a discount, then please contact us as we will gratefully receive any help with gratitude.
You can also donate bric-a-brac, which will be resold via the station shop and at charity events.
