Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 2012

The 1940's Weekend at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway has developed into a major community event involving the only standard gauge steam Heritage Railway in Lincolnshire based at Ludborough Station linked to the picturesque village of North Thoresby.

Both locations have different 1940's themes with military and civilian re-enactors intermingling with visitors.

Steam locomotives, a static MkII Spitfire gate guardian, Military Vehicles, Battle Re-enactments, Silver Band, vintage vehicles, vintage traction engines, vintage aircraft flypasts, 1940's trade stalls, farm implements and 1940's music, song and dance providing a unique atmosphere.

The 1940's theme in North Thoresby is linked to the village social life of the era with an emphasis on farming, 1940's food, military and civilian re-enactment, exhibitions, trade stalls and much more.

Both villages are linked by the steam railway with vintage buses also adding to the real feel of the 1940's .

Throughout the weekend the 5 star rated "Steaming Kettle Buffet" at Ludborough Station will be providing a range of superb 1940's style food and drink.
