More importantly, have you ever wanted to work a signal box yourself?
Well now’s your chance!
The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is offering you the chance to operate its signal box at Ludborough station. You will get to operate the signals, gates and block bells between Ludborough and North Thoresby under supervision of the on duty signalman.
The Signal Box Experience course last for three hours and you can come for the early shift (10am - 1pm) or the afternoon shift (1pm - 4pm). The signalman will explain how all the levers work and how we operate the trains. Once you have observed the first train depart, you will then given the chance to operate the box yourself. You will receive a signed certificate (signed by the on duty signalman) to remember your experience. The cost of the course is £25, payable on the day. The price also includes a train ride to North Thoresby. Please note that the course is only available to those age 18 years and over.
