Lincolnshire Wolds Railway Society life member Graham Larn is doing his bit to help spread the word about our heritage line. Graham is also an active member of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and, for the second year running, he has sponsored a barrel of beer on behalf of the LWR at the 6th Annual CAMRA, Grimsby Beer Festival held at the Matrix Bar in the town centre.
This year’s ale was J.W. Lees, Best Bitter, at a strength of 4% abv. The beer was first brewed in 1828 and was a firm favourite with Lancastrian Railway and Cotton Mill workers. Production has continued ever since at the Greengate Brewery, Middleton Junction, Greater Manchester.
