ELR50 is coming to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway in August 2020! ELR50 is a series of exhibitions, events and celebrations across the East of Lincolnshire, commemorating the loss of the railways to the area 50 years ago.
ELR50 is a 60 day festival of family fun across East Lincolnshire to mark the 50th anniversary of the closure of the Railway network in this area in October 1970. Numerous venues across the East of Lincolnshire are partaking in festivities including a huge exhibition of local railway memorabilia at Batemans Brewery Visitors Centre and events at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.
ELR50 at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
Don’t miss exciting events at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway including a guest loco throughout August and September and a weekend dedicated to the closure of East Lincolnshire’s railways 50 years ago.
By supporting any ELR50 event, you will be helping to fundraise towards LWR’s ‘Making Tracks for Louth’ campaign. Any surplus profits made from the East Lincolnshire Railway Festival will be donated to this campaign with the aim of reinstating some of the original railway line that was closed 50 years ago.
