Keeping the age of steam alive!

The bear essentials

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is offering free travel for children who bring their favourite teddy bear to the station!

The LWR is holding the special ‘Teddy Bear’s Day’ at Ludborough on Sunday 11th August 2019 when children who are accompanied by a fare-paying adult can travel on the steam train absolutely free if they bring a teddy bear, or other cuddly toy with them.

See if you can spot the teddy bears on the Sticky Paws Trail!

Steam trains will be running hourly from 10.45am to 3.45pm. The shop, museum and buffet will all be open and you can visit the engine shed where we maintain and restores our steam locomotives.

Comment

  • I visited the railway on Saturday and wanted to have a chat with Frank. I run a Dementia Café in Louth and would like to take the group to the railway on Wednesday 23 August (1.30pm – 4pm). There will be between 40 – 50 people. We would like to have a train ride (13:45hrs) and then have refreshments (tea/coffee and cake). We do have a number of men that would be interested in having a look in your Engine Shed.

Can you accommodate us? Can you give me a cost for the visit?

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
