Keeping the age of steam alive!

The Railway Walk – Monday 27th May

The Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival is back for its 15th year, offering 16 days of walking this Spring across an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Walking Festival remains one of the largest and best-attended events of its kind in the UK and this year’s programme includes something a little bit different – an organised walk from Ludborough station, up onto the edge of the Wolds to North Thoresby, and then a ride on the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway steam train back to the start!

The 5.6-mile family and dog-friendly walk takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May starting at 12 noon then, at the end of the walk, you catch the 3.10pm steam train from North Thoresby station back to Ludborough.

Train tickets, which should be bought before the start of the walk, are £4 adults, £3 seniors and £2.50 children for the single journey from North Thoresby to Ludborough or you can get all-day rover tickets which are £8 adults, £6 seniors, £4 children and £1 dogs. A family ticket for people taking part in the walk is £16, a saving of £4 on normal prices.

So why not get your walking shoes out and enjoy the landscape and heritage of the Lincolnshire Wolds!
