‘BEHIND THE SCENES’ TOURS & LIVE COMMENTARY

‘Behind the Scenes’ Tours on select dates subject to volunteer availability

Departs from side of ticket office: 12.30pm & 2.30pm – No Booking Required

On selected dates throughout the year, we invite you on one of our  guided ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tours.

See where we carry out the maintenance and restoration work on our locomotive fleet, hear about our stock and the past working life of our locomotives and have access to an area not usually accessible to the public.

We are proud to be one of the few heritage railways that allows visitors a look behind the scenes, so join us and enjoy a day out at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

Our guided tours are included in your ticket and depart from the side of the ticket office. Tours last around 45 minutes and are at 12.30pm & 2.30pm after the train arrives back at Ludborough, so please just turn up at the time, no booking required.

You will visit the engine shed to see where our loco’s go under restoration and repairs & we stop at several places on the way down to the engine shed for photo opportunities. Your guide Marc gives you a commentary of the various stock and locos in areas not usually accessible to the public, to see and hear more about the work behind the scenes. Enjoy 🙂

**Engine shed visits maybe able to be arranged on other running days without the commentary, subject to staff availability – Please ask on the day**

Live Commentary on select dates subject to volunteer availability

ONBOARD TRAINS DEPARTING LUDBOROUGH 10.45am, 11.45am & 1.45pm.

No Booking Required – Ask at booking office which carriage to sit in for commentary.

On selected dates throughout the year, we invite you to listen to our live onboard commentary, giving you a brief insight into the history of the line, included with your ticket.

Please sit back, relax and enjoy your journey through the Lincolnshire Wolds, while your host, Marc gives you an insight into how the line began & how it became The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard.
