On selected dates throughout the year, we invite you on one of our new for 2023 guided ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tours.    

See where we carry out the maintenance and restoration work on our carriages & locomotive fleet, hear about our stock and the past working life of our locomotives and have access to two areas not usually accessible to the public.

We are proud to be one of the few heritage railways that allows visitors a look behind the scenes, so join us and enjoy a day out at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

Our guided tours are included in your ticket and depart from the side of the ticket office. Tours last around 45 minutes and are at 12.30pm & 2.30pm after the train arrives back at Ludborough, so please just turn up at the time, no booking required.

You will visit the carriage shed to see where our carriages go under restoration and repairs & we stop at several places on the way down to the engine shed for photo opportunities. Your guide Marc gives you a commentary of the various stock and locos in areas not usually accessible to the public, to see and hear more about the work behind the scenes. Enjoy 🙂

On selected dates throughout the year, we invite you to listen to our live onboard commentary, giving you a brief insight into the history of the line, included with your ticket.
